Samantha has been a member of VRA since January 2013,holding her RRP designation and is a member of CVRP, holding her CVRP designation.
Samantha started her journey supporting both children and adults with disabilities as a youth, learning American Sign Language and supporting persons with disabilities in academic settings, in the community as well as in places of employment. Samantha completed her Diploma in Classroom and Community Support at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia followed by completing her Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary.
Over the course of determining what avenue to work in, in the field of rehabilitation, Samantha secured employment with Goodwill Industries – Calgary Power of Work in January 2003. It was there that Samantha learned that supporting adults with disabilities with return to work barriers was where she belonged.
Samantha has worked in the field of disability management and vocational rehabilitation for over three decades, working with various organizations including Goodwill Industries, Banyan Work Health Solutions, WorkBC in both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, British Columbia, and finally with WCG Services, where she has been employed for the last five years.
Currently, Samantha lives in Edmonton, Alberta, and has been working with WCG Services since March 2017. She is a Team Lead with the current Canadian Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Services contract through Veterans Affairs Canada. She will be moving through to the new Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services(PCVRS) contract, which begins in January 2023.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys life to the full, traveling, running, hiking, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends.
