VRA Canada is constantly working on new initiatives to help support members and promote the practice of vocational rehabilitation across Canada. Over the past year, VRA Canada has spearheaded these initiatives:
Significantly expanded the Association’s educational programming, particularly through the new Online Learning Academy
Developed a Communications Strategy to increase communication both with members and external stakeholders
Conducted outreach to key stakeholders in several provinces
Developed government relations strategies to connect with provincial agencies relevant to the profession across Canada
Drafted a memorandum of understanding with the College of Vocational RehabilitationProfessionals, transferring credentials to the College, as is the case with regulated professions.
VRA Canada is planning to offer the following initiatives to support members:
Continued expansion of the Online Learning Academy to include the most current research, information, and training modules
Continued high-quality preparation materials for examinations leading to designations like CVRP and RTWDM
Reduced costs for members who utilize the OLA (Savings on the full suite of modules
CafeConnections networking and learning sessions, as well as regular VRoom Cafes on a variety of topics - free to all members
Target Initiatives developed and executed
Access to mentoring opportunities through the MentorConnect program - free to members
National In-Person Conference in Victoria BC
More networking opportunities on a variety of platforms
An affinity program (Perkopolis) for VRA Canada members, offering such perks as preferred rates for gym memberships, Costco memberships, rental cars and office supplies;
A member-to-member program – a community share site for discounted goods and services;
Reciprocal memberships and partnerships with sister organizations.
